Description

Did you know that it takes thousands of years for a beach to form? Beaches form due to the water that is constantly moving, breaking down the land, including the rocks and coral reef. The waves leave behind sand, pebbles, and gravel along the shoreline which forms the sand that is broken down minerals and rocks. Beaches are constantly changing and although it might not be noticeable they are constantly getting larger and smaller. In this activity the participant will weave a "beach mat."

This activity is a part of the beach theme box. Check it out!
