Description
A hand kite is a ring of ribbon that waves when you move it around. It is great for rhythm exercise. For our hand kite we will add bells to it so that it also makes a fun sound similar to a tambourine! The origin of the tambourine is unknown, but it appears in historical writings as early as 1700 BC and was used by ancient musicians in West Africa, the Middle East, Greece and India. The tambourine passed to Europe by way of merchants or musicians. Enjoy making your own tambourine hand kite in this activity!
